Not Me! Monday

Wow! Its been way too long since I've participated in this fun event, I'm so excited...

Welcome to
I am NOT sitting here with a towel on my head, in red sweats and cowboy boots. I'm ready for the day in my Sunday's Monday's best of course...

I did NOT go outside to feed the horses this morning looking like this. I wouldn't consider it!

I did NOT get hay all in, around, and down my red sweats.

I did NOT reach down my sweats to get the hay out, while outside. That would be simply shameful!

My sink is NOT full of dishes right now. I wouldn't have been able to sleep last night by golly, knowing dishes were begging to be washed...

Our well did NOT go almost dry on Saturday due to an irresponsible neighbor who thought he could leave his hose on all night and day. He would certainly have more common sense than that!

I was NOT going to try to use the well thing as an excuse for my dishes NOT filling my sink right now. I would never!

I do NOT have company coming in just a few short days, and still have tons of stuff to finish before then, including Christmas shopping. That would mean I'm behind, and I'm never behind.

Oh yeah, I do NOT have a huge hematoma (sp), *ehem* blemish on my chin, that my brother asked (to be mean by the way) if it was a spider bite! Seriously, am I 14?! It was not the kind that you felt before you saw, and you wanted to try to stop it from coming so you try everything you "heard" will work on those suckers, but it doesn't so you....pick. EW! But I do NOT do any of those things, I'm smarter than that, I don't even get 'em, thank goodness.

Merry Christmas everybody! XOXO

Crafting and Bunco and Moving Oh My...

I feel like I've been following the yellow brick road and I've finally arrived at OZ. Its beautiful here, but its still life, still things to be done, its not heaven for goodness sake!

My sweet friend Tamara pointed out that I've left out some details of all the many things I've been doing during the in between time, if that even exists! HEHE!

Well, my best friend Jennifer and I have been...over doing it really. (We're working on getting on more of a schedule instead of whenever we think of it, which would usually end up everyday. ) We've signed on as vendors for the cutest little store, Jacksonville Barn Co., providing our crafts and a variety of furniture pieces that we paint, distress and make look cute! Usually nothing a little black spray paint, rope, and maybe some chicken wire can't fix:)
In this pic. you can see a few of our items, the farm table which after we finish we both wanted to keep it for ourselves:)
In this pick you can see our pillows & the "EGGS" sign,

We were so excited when we found this clock, it didn't have a working clock in it, and the wood was in awful condition but, we saw potential. Love this!
These next three pics are from the Christmas Bazaar, we sold crafts, and gift baskets. We did well and had a blast!

During this particular weekend, Jen and I started a Bunco group, participated at a Christmas Bazaar (out of town!) and, not to mention all the while we were moving! *Hyperventilating* What were we thinking you ask? ANSWER: We weren't, but where's the fun in thinking!? Stess much? Nah!
So, there you go Tamara;) Hope that fills in a small amount of the blanks for you;)...More to come. Oh yeah, during all of this hoopla, I have managed to do very well with my eating and exercise (weird!) and I'm almost exactly where I wanted to be! Feels good!!!
Merry Christmas!

"An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Luke 2:9-12

She's Ba-ack!

Have you ever been relaxing in the bath, leaning back on your dollar store bath pillow thinking to yourself, “Holy Cow! This has been a stressful couple of months!”?

Lately, I’ve been so out of touch with this world of blogging. The excuse reason I’ve been M-I-A is because we’ve been moving, and without the internet. We’ve moved far enough out of town that it apparently isn’t that easy to get internet. The reason we moved? Well, we are one of the many that lost our house to the bank. I hate even writing that, admitting that, because it’s shameful and disappointing but it is what it is and now you know.

We are settling into our new home, where I have been sleeping better than I’ve slept in years. I think its due partly to the fact that I feel a huge weight of stress has been lifted, and also partly due to the coziness of this…CABIN!

We are living in a LOG CABIN! Can you believe that!? It’s the strangest thing to be sitting on the couch looking around me and I see logs, actual logs, surrounding me. The cabin sits on around 8 acres, there’s a small barn, a tractor, a mountain, ponds, trees, I get to have my horses (we got another horse) here, the kids are in heaven with so much to explore and do. It’s really amazing! God is good.
We hosted Thanksgiving up here, my parents, my brother and his family, and my best friend and her family all came. Steve and I agree that it was one of the best Thanksgivings that we’ve had since we’ve been married (13 years thank you very much!). We love that there’s room for everyone and never a lack of something to do. Whether its chopping wood for the wood stove, taking care of the horses, swinging on the rope swing, reading a book by the fire, or sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch enjoying the sounds of the waterfall and hearing the kids playing in the background. I could have never imagined that we would be in such a place, the Lord provides.
Like many of you, I’ve been getting into the Christmas spirit. I love it! I would have been into it earlier if we wouldn’t have been moving… Anyway, I just wanted to touch base with everyone, and let you know that I’m officially BACK, oh and that I’m dreaming of a white Christmas!

Isaiah 9:3 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given...and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace ”

Merry Christmas!

My 2 Week Challenge 4 Myself

I don't know about you, but for me, I need a good reason to eat right and exercise. Simple "because its healthier" isn't a good enough reason for me. I rarely eat junk food, in fact I eat pretty healthy. Except of course the occasional brownie, Oreo, chocolate chip cookies, pizza sometimes, diet coke, crispy chicken sandwich, hmmm...Maybe I need to re-evaluate my eating?! I also rarely actually exercise, which is where I mostly go wrong. I'm really only about 5 pounds overweight, even though my dad would tell you I "could use to eat a cheeseburger." He's wrong, I need to lose 5 pounds!

Weighing myself, as you know, isn't my favorite thing to do. Its because I know what it does to my mind. Just like I know what certain mirrors do to me. Except my mirror of course. I LOVE my mirror. I thought I was lookin' real good until my mom was over and went in to use my mirror only to exclaim, "I love this mirror! It makes me look so good!" Grrr! There goes that.

I need a challenge! I need to make myself believe that I'm competing in order to finish something. For instance I sometimes set a time for when I will have the house clean. I am challenged to finish before that time.

Hmmm...

So what could my challenge be for getting into shape. One that I won't talk myself out of? No reunions coming up, no upcoming cruise...Why does Thanksgiving have to be so yummy?!

Hmmmm...

I titled this a 2 week challenge because I wanted to make it feasible, realistic.

So a 2 week challenge to lose 5 pounds, increase my daily exercise, and start eating healthier. I'll post my eating journal and time of daily exercise.

This should be good. I can do this. You're welcome to join in. I would love it if you did:)

I CAN do this, and so CAN you...

I received this wonderful scripture with a comment from my sweet Blog friend Tamara over at September Serendipity:

"Oh the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments." Romans 11:33

Burlap and Chocolate

I've been craftin' getting ready for the Christmas bazaar. My sweet friend and I are doing gift baskets this year, they're always a hot seller, but I'm also craftin' some homemade goodies. I think I'll make some tassels(the one above is my experimental tassel AKA 1st one I ever made), some rag garland, some oh so sweet sunflowers, oh and I'm going to try and attempt some tin can candles, & burlap pillows. Very primitive chic...

Burlap is my fabric of choice right now. I went down to our local feed store and bought around 8 yards total for around $10! Love it!
~

As usual I've been busy, busy. I'm determined to NOT gain any poundage this winter. Its like I go into a hibernation when the weather outside is frightful, I tend to gain around 5 pounds or so. Its awful! All that baking and chocolate and baking and chocolate...This year. Not gunna do it! No way no how. My shape-ups are wonderful in case you were wondering, and I have felt sore, so we'll see if they help me with staying in shape, or getting into shape at all:)LOL!

I just saw an update on facebook that said, "Feeling sore after working out and the 300 squats I did yesterday." I wanted to puke! I wanted to write an update of my own, but I refrained. Its like those girls who swear their favorite food is salad and carrots. Seriously!? You lie.
Well, I've got brownies in the oven so good-bye for now friends, ya'll come back now. ;)

New Shoes

I got me some new high heels, Skechers Shape-Ups:) My dream came true not too long ago, they came out with high heeled tennis shoes! AND, they're suppose to get my booty in shape...Well, we'll see about that:)

I've been wearing them for about a week now, and I love them! I love feeling like I'm getting a work out just wearing them while running errands and cleaning the house.

Its absolutely ridiculous, but I feel better when I'm wearing clothes that look like I'm going to work out or have just returned from working out. Wow! This is a problem. I really need to start walking again! Maybe tomorrow?
